How it Works
Over the years, I have facilitated sound healings, Reiki, and other modalities that support deep relaxation. But where I consistently see the greatest shift is in what clients are able to carry into their daily lives. These sessions are designed to give you practices you can return to, again and again.
Each session focuses on no more than three techniques, allowing you to fully absorb and integrate what you learn.
Over time, this creates a steady sense of regulation and resilience within the nervous system.
Sessions are offered one-on-one or in small groups, in my Woodside, California studio, virtually, or on-site in homes and workplaces throughout the surrounding Peninsula.
Where We Begin
This includes both daily stressors and the less obvious ones that run quietly in the background over time. Together, we explore stress through a biopsychosocial lens, looking not only at current pressures, but also lifestyle patterns, nervous system load, emotional history, physical wellbeing, and the ways the body may have adapted to stress over time.
This can include areas such as sleep, digestion, overstimulation, daily rhythms, environmental stressors, emotional overwhelm, and the cumulative effects of chronic tension on the body and mind.
Together, we identify what can be eased or supported. Even small shifts can reduce the overall load on your system, allowing it to move out of constant response and into a more regulated state.
This becomes the foundation for the work that follows.

The Practices
Each meeting together draws from a range of practices that support the nervous system in different ways. Each session is tailored and focused so you can fully absorb and integrate what you learn.
Custom Aromatherapy and Herbal Support
Aromatherapy plays an important role in this work. Through the olfactory system, scent has direct access to the limbic areas of the brain connected to emotion, memory, and stress response. Essential oils are selected not only for their aromatic qualities, but also for their ability to support relaxation, calmer mental states, emotional balance, and slower brain wave activity associated with rest and relaxation.
Herbal support may also be incorporated when appropriate through personalized herbal formulation. This can include adaptogenic herbs traditionally used to help support the body’s stress response, as well as calming nervines often used to support daily stress, anxiety, relaxation, and sleep.
Guided Breathwork
Specific breath patterns are used to help engage the parasympathetic nervous system, support vagal tone, and encourage the body to move out of stress response and into a more rested, regulated state. These practices can be especially supportive during periods of overwhelm, anxiety, emotional activation, or difficulty settling.
Breathwork is often paired with aromatherapy, allowing scent and breath to work together to deepen relaxation, grounding, emotional regulation, and present-moment awareness. Many of these techniques are intentionally simple and accessible, giving you practical tools you can return to throughout daily life when stress, triggers, or anxious states arise.
Meditation with Aromatic Anchors
Aromatic anchors use scent as a way to help the brain and body build stronger associations with calm, presence, intention, and emotional states. Because scent is closely tied to memory and emotion, specific aromas can become linked over time to particular feelings, practices, or internal experiences.
In our work together, scent may be paired with meditation, breathwork, sound healing, affirmations, or moments of deep relaxation. Through repetition, the aroma itself can begin to act as a cue for the nervous system, helping you more easily return to a calmer, more grounded state outside of the session environment.
This approach can also be used to reinforce intentions, emotional regulation, mindfulness practices, or states of rest and safety, creating a more tangible and embodied relationship to meditation and relaxation over time.
Vagal Toning Techniques
Gentle, effective practices that support the vagus nerve and help regulate the body’s response to stress both in the moment and over time. Many of these techniques take only a few minutes a day, yet when practiced consistently can help strengthen stress resilience, support nervous system regulation, and shift the body out of chronic states of activation.
These practices are designed not only as ongoing daily support, but also as practical tools you can return to during moments of anxiety, overwhelm, emotional triggering, or nervous system activation. Over time, learning how to work with the body in this way can help create a greater sense of steadiness, safety, and emotional regulation in everyday life.
Vocal Toning
Gentle vocalization of specific sounds can help stimulate the vagus nerve and support a calmer, more regulated nervous system. Simple practices such as humming, sustained tones, and intentional vocal resonance may help release tension, encourage deeper breathing, and create a greater sense of grounding within the body.
Like other vagal toning practices, vocal toning can become an easy tool to incorporate into daily life. Over time, consistent practice may help improve resilience to stress and support a more balanced nervous system response, while also offering a calming and supportive practice during moments of anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional activation.
Grounding Practices
Much of modern stress lives in the mind; looping thoughts and a sense of being pulled away from ourselves. These practices gently shift attention back into the body, where regulation can naturally occur.
We may work with scent, simple visualization, and somatic movement and postures to create a felt sense of presence. Over time, this becomes a steady way to ground yourself during moments of intensity or mental overwhelm.
For Returning Clients
Designed for returning clients seeking deeper rest, nervous system support, and restoration through sound, subtle energy work, and grounding practices. These sessions offer space for the body to soften, release tension, and reset.
The Reset
Investment: $250
Created for returning clients, these focused one-hour appointments are designed to help calm the nervous system and support the body during periods of stress, overwhelm, mental fatigue, or emotional exhaustion.
Guided by The Way Apothecary’s core aromatic formulations, each appointment begins with light-touch vagal toning behind the ears, a gentle practice that helps engage the parasympathetic nervous system and encourages the body to settle into a more restorative state.
From there, the experience moves fluidly into sound healing and subtle energy work, using vibration, resonance, aromatherapy, and intentional rest to help slow overstimulated brain wave activity, quiet mental noise, and bring the body into a deeper sense of calm and regulation.
Especially supportive between deeper appointments, these focused sessions offer returning clients a way to reconnect, recalibrate, and restore.
